they label you insane.

“I was self-medicating through creation, the sickness in my mind of the sickness in the world. Through art, I realised healing oneself is reconnecting with the soul, the inner-child that gifts you the ability to heal others.” - Nyomi Khan

Without art, the soul is without expression

Visual Art & Fine Art

An exploration of the human condition, where emotion becomes expression and the unspoken finds a visual voice.

Through painting, drawing, symbolism and layered narratives, each piece confronts identity, power, vulnerability and the complexities of existence. Art created not simply to capture the eye, but to stir the soul, unsettle perspectives and awaken something deeper within the viewer. Every canvas holds a story; every mark carries meaning.

The artist cannot be chained.

Art has long served as a powerful vehicle for self-expression, resilience and escapism, offering a means of navigating everyday realities through creativity.

At just 17, ‘Nyomi Khan’ was credited as lead actress in A Tale of Two Friends, a theatrical production by renowned Bangladeshi playwright Masum Reza, performed in Oxford and London.

Supporting artist in Hindi cinema projects include Yash Chopra's Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012), Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2014) and Shah Rukh Khan's FAN (2015).

The first Hollywood production was Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Conversations with members of the principal cast inspired further professional development at Identity Drama School, alongside university studies.

Experiences of typecasting, misogyny and the underrepresentation of Muslims within the acting industry exposed persistent barriers to opportunity and inclusion. As a result, creative exploration extended into other artistic disciplines, providing alternative platforms for expression, storytelling and challenging convention.
